Deputy PM says car producers, govt agree on industry support

MOSCOW, Dec 7 (PRIME) -- Russian car producers and the government have agreed on general parameters of state support that the authorities are to provide to the car industry, the work will be finalized next week, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak told reporters on Friday following a government meeting.

“We have agreed on general parameters of support. I think that we are to finalize setting the rules very soon, literally next week, because strategies, concepts, and general approaches are always wordy, but many discussions arise when it comes to the rules of market conduct,” he said.

The government will provide a subsidy to “new exporters” that the companies will use to expand production of competitive products, while “old exporters” will continue receiving support in the form of a logistics subsidy, he said.

“We will sign special investment contracts with all car producers. We will provide support in payments of scrappage fees to all Russian car producers,” he added.
